Regency underwear and weathering
Recreation of Regency men's clothing: a shirt and pair of drawers. Constructed using cotton that was then weathered and distressed for effect.. Includes hand-made button details and whitework embroidery.
Research and Techniques
Using the original historical sources as a starting point, made a costume illustration to help visualise the final garments. With guidance from my tutors then proceeded to make the base garments.
Weathering samples were made to explore what techniques to use to get the desired effect. A combination of coffee, tea, charcoal, acrylic paints and PVA glue was used.
